The equation which represents the line is : y = 5x/4 - 5

Writing the equation in slope-intercept form ;

  • y = bx + c
  • b = slope ; c = intercept

From the graph, we can use the pair of points (4, 0) , (0, -5) to obtain the slope

Slope = change in y / Change in x

Slope = (-5 - 0) / (0 - 4) = 5/4

Using this to calculate the intercept;

(4, 0)

0 = 5/4(4) + c

0 = 5 + c

c = -5

The equation becomes: y = 5x/4 - 5
