What do we know so far:

  • 2(2)/(3)laps in
    (4)/(15)hour
    (8)/(3)laps in
    (4)/(15)hour

*we converted the number of laps into improper fractions

2(2)/(3) = (8)/(3)

We want to know the number of laps in an hour

⇒ so we must find the rate which ⇒ lap/hour

lap/hour =(8/3laps)/(4/15hours) =(8)/(3)*(15)/(4) =(8)/(4) *(15)/(3) =2*5=10laps/hour

So William can run10 laps in one hour

Hope that helps!
