Given:

Each side the triangle = 8 cm

The height of the triangle = 3 cm

The height of the prism = 12 cm

To find the surface area of the triangular prism.

Formula:

The surface area the triangular prism:

SA = bh+(s_(1) +s_(2)+s_(3))H

where, b be the base of the triangle

h be the height of the triangle

s_(1) ,s_(2) ,s_(3) be the sides of the triangle.

H be the height of the prism.

Now,

Putting, b=8, h=3, H = 12,
s_(1)=8, s_(2)=8 and s_(3)=8 we get,

SA = (8)(3)+(8+8+8)(12) sq cm

or,
SA = 24+288 sq cm

or,
SA = 312 sq cm

Hence,

The surface area of the given triangular prism is 312 sq cm.
