Jack: 4 x 6 = 24

Jill: 5.4 x 10 = 54

Explanation:

Jack:

5 + 1 = 6

24 ÷ 6 = 4

4 = $4 per item

Jill:

6 + 4 = 10

54 ÷ 10 = 5.4

5.4 = $5.4
