we know that

so


5x-2y=22 -----> equation A

The sum of the numbers is three

so


x+y=3

isolate the variable y


y=3-x ----> equation B

substitute equation B in equation A


5x-2(3-x)=22

solve for x


5x-6+2x=22\\7x=22+6\\7x=28\\x=4

Find the value of y (equation B)


y=3-4=-1

threrefore

The ordered pair is (4,-1)
