To work out the equation for this line you would first need to find the formula for the direction of the line. This is because if the y axis was on 1 the x axis is on the negative of that number.Then as the line is deviated, so you would need to find by how much it has deviated. To find that out you would look at the y intercept and count how many squares it has moved by. This is because the formulas y=x and y=-x all cross through (0,0). If it has moved up from (0,0) then you would write it as + and the deviation, and if it is below you would write it as a -.

1) Find the formula for the direction of the diagonal line.

In this case it would be
y=-x.

2)Find by how much the line has deviated.

In this case it is +2
