A person driving a car applies the brakes. This produces friction. True or False

That's how brakes always used to work, so it was True, until just a few years ago.

But now, in hybrid or all-electric cars, brakes don't work by friction. So for that kind of cars, it's false.

Friction means that something holds back a moving object. When you apply the breaks in a car, you apply friction to a car that's moving to make it stop. Applying the breaks comes into contact with the car which enables it to totally stop. Therefore, the answer is True.
