1) turn this into a quadratic equation by moving it to the "10" to the right:

-x^2+7x-5=0

now quadratic equations are in the form of:

ax^2+bx+c

so substitute a=1

b=7

and c=-5 in the quadratic formula:
(-b+/-√(b^2-4ac) )/(2a)

lets do addition first:

lets do subtraction next:
