The dimension of rectangular compound wall of a house is 20 m long , 15m broad, 10 cm thick. Find the cost of building the walls by using bricks of size 20cm × 10cm × 5 cm where the rate of cost of bricks is Rs. 20000per 1000 bricks. 5days is required for 4 labours to finish the work and labour charge is Rs. 950 per day per labour.

Answer:

Total cost of building the wall is Rs 79000.

Explanation:

Given:

Dimension of the wall = (20×15×0.1) m

Dimension of the bricks = (0.2×0.1×0.5) m

All measurements are in meters as we know,
1\ cm = (1)/(100)\ m

We have to find the cost of building the wall.

Cost of the building the wall = Cost of bricks + Cost of labor.

Before that we have to find the number of bricks required.

So,

No.\ of\ bricks=(Volume\ of\ the\ wall)/(Volume\ of\ one\ bricks) = (20* 25* 0.1)/(0.2* 0.1* 0.5) = 3000 bricks.

Rate\ of\ one\ bricks:(20000)/(1000)=Rs\ 20

Cost of all 3000 bricks :

Bricks\ cost = 3000* 20 =Rs\ 60000

Cost of 4 labors for 5 days at the cost of Rs 950 per day:

Labour\ cost=4* 5* 950=Rs\ 19000

Total cost of building the wall:

Total\cost= Rs\ (19000+60000)=Rs\ 79000

Total cost of building the wall is Rs 79000.
