Answer : The number of moles of oxygen in the reaction vessel is, 0.761 mole.

Explanation :

To calculate the number of moles of oxygen gas we are using ideal gas equation as follows:

PV=nRT

where,

P = Pressure of
O_2 gas = 84.8 atm

V = Volume of
O_2 gas = 0.217 L

n = number of moles
O_2 = ?

R = Gas constant =
0.0821L.atm/mol.K

T = Temperature of
O_2 gas =
21.6^oC=273+21.6=294.6K

Now put all the given values in above equation, we get:

84.8atm* 0.217L=n* (0.0821L.atm/mol.K)* 294.6K

n=0.761mol

Therefore, the number of moles of oxygen in the reaction vessel is, 0.761 mole.
