Answer:

The amount it will cost to paint both containers is $240

Explanation:

The dimensions of the containers are

Length, L = 40 ft

Width, W = 8 ft and

Height, H = 9 ft

Therefore, the surface area, SA of the containers is given by

SA = 2·L·W + 2·L·H + 2·W·H

40 × 8 × 2 + 40 × 9 × 2 + 2 × 9 × 8 = ‭1,504‬ ft²

Therefore, the number of cans of paints required is given by;

Number \, of \, cans \, of \, paints \, \, required = (Area \, to \, be \, painted)/(\, Area \, covered \, per \, can \, of \, paint)

Number \, of \, cans \, of \, paints \, \, required = (1504)/(188) = 8 Cans

One can of paint costs $15, therefore, 8 cans costs ;

$15 × 8 = $120.

Since there are two storage containers, the total cost of painting is given by;

Total cost to paint both containers = 2 × $120 = $240.
