George Washington - the top general of the Continental Army. He had hit and run tactics that helped prolong the war. He also led his troops through valley Forge and had a victory at the Battle of Yorktown
Paul Revere - he rode a horse to Lexington in an attempt to warn the American militia and Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the redcoats were coming. He ended up getting captured.
Thomas Paine - writer of the pamphlet called Common Sense. It gave reasons as to why the Colonists should separate from Britain in words that are easy to understand.
Benjamin Franklin - he spent time in France where he successfully convinced the French King to support them during the Revolutionary War
John Paul Jones - a general that was in charge of the U.S. “navy”. He had a victory where he sunk new British warships.
Benedict Arnold - American general who betrayed the Continental Army by switching sides to join the British
