You first need to find a common denominator for 1/2. The denominator in 1/4 is 4 and 2 can go into 4 twice so we are going to multiply 1/2 by 2. 1/2 times 2/2 equals 2/4 and now you can add. So 1/4 plus your new fraction 2/4 is 3/4. So your answer here is C. 3/4
