The solution is x=8 and y = 6

Explanation:

Given,

x+y = 14 ------ (1)

2x-2y = 4 ------- (2)

To find the solution of the given equation

Dividing both sides of (2) by 2 we get,

x-y = 2 ----(3)

Now we will solve (1) and (3)

Adding (1) and (3) we get,

(x+y) + (x-y) = 14+2

or, 2x = 16

or, x = 8

Again, putting the value of x=8 in (1) we get,

y = 14-x

= 14-8 = 6

Hence,

The solution is x=8 and y = 6
