The pet store is giving away samples of dog treats. Each dog that visits the store will get 2 free treats. Yesterday the store gave away 16 treats in all. Which problem could be used to find how many dogs visited the store yesterday?

16 ÷ 2
16 – 2
2 ÷ 16
2 + 16

Answer:

16÷2 is the correct answer

Explanation:

16 is the total number of the treats given away. it states that 2 treats are given per dog. the question asks how many dogs visited. If you know that a dog recieve 2 and there were 16 treats given away then the only way to find the answer would be to take the total number (16) and divide by the number of treats given away per dog (2). thus, concluding the answer to be 16÷2

and the answer to 16÷2 is 8.

hope this helps :)
