A 3 kg box is being pulled along a horizontal surface with a constant force. If the force stays the same but a boxed 2 kg mass is placed on top of the 3 kg box, what will happen to the motion of the stacked boxes?

Answer:

The motion/acceleration of the box will reduce by half giving that the force of pull is constant

Step-by-step explanation:

Actually the tension/pulling force is equal to the Mass times the acceleration due to gravity of the body I.e

Tp=m*a

Where Tp= tension force/pull

m=mass of the body

a= acceleration due to

gravity

If we keep Tp constant and increase m by adding 2kg then we have

Mathematically

Tp=(2+m)*a

a=Tp/(2+m)

Hence the motion will be reduced by half.
