As a college student, I'd prefer a light weighted laptop (preferable a Mac kind of laptop), glamorous look with a good sound system to listen to music.

Focusses on very few items such as:

Camera: For video chat, photos, videos.

Sound system: For listening to music.

Moderate processor: For a few simple software run, games

Aesthetic look: The laptop should be glamorous, colorful

RAM and ROM could be moderate: For supporting a few operations running simultaneously and storing heavy files such as movies, games etc.

As a person from defense-related company I'd need a sophisticated system, robust built, good protection, capable of using USB, CD, floppy, card reader for work related activities. A high speed processor for optimum performance.

Focusses on functional items such as:

Camera: Is of moderate use

Sound System: For video chat, conferencing.

Strong Processor: For supporting multiple programs simultaneously.

Aesthetic look: Not important

RAM and ROM: Processor should be a high speed one, RAM could be high, ROM can be moderate because most work is done on cloud.
