Explain how you would find the coordinates of the image
of (5,2) if it was reflected over the x-axis and then that
image was reflected over the y-axis. What would be the
end result?

Answer: Lets say you have a graph. On the graph is the point (5,2).

If you reflect over the x-axis, the x value stays the same and the y value changes the sign. In this situation, the y value is 2, so reflected over the x-axis, the y value would now be -2. And the y value would stay the same. So (5,-2). Now we need to reflect this new point over the y-axis. For reflecting over the y-axis, the y value stays the same and the x value changes signs. In (5,-2), the x value is 5, so reflected over the y-axis, it would now be -5. The y value stays the same, so the new point is (-5,-2).
