Wes wants to buy 3 pepper plants from the garden. The regular price of a pepper plant is $5. If we'd buys 3 plants, he can use a 20% off coupon. If he buys 4plants, he can use a 30% off coupon. Wes wants to know if buying 4plants is less expensive then buying 3 plants.

Answer:

$12

Explanation:

We are given that

Cost of 1 pepper plant=$5

Discount coupon on buying 3 plants=20%

Discount coupon on buying 4 plants=30%

We have to find the sale price of 3 pepper plants after a 20% discount.

Cost of 3 pepper plants=
3* 5=$15

20% of $15=
(20)/(100)* 15=$3

Sale price of 3 pepper plants=Cost price of 3 pepper plants-discount

Sale price of 3 pepper plants=$15-$3

Sale price of 3 pepper plants=$12

Hence, the sale price of 3 pepper plants after 20 discount=$12
