According to Montaigne, what is the "standard of truth" of his own country? What does he think of this standard?

Montaigne believed that the "standard of truth" of his own country is God. He believed that human beings are always changing and that we could not have a permanent standard of what is true. The only quality that God has that we don't is His permanence.
