How do you factor 0 = 4x2 + 2x – 30?

Answer:

x= 5/2, x= -3

4x^2+2x-30=0; Factor that without the 0. Then you get 2 (2x-5) (x+3)=0.

2x-5=0 x= 5/2

x+3=0 x= -3

The answer is x = 11

first you multiply the numbers
0= 8 + 2x- 30

then you calculate that difference
0= -22+ 2x

then move variable to the left
-2x= -22

divide
x= 11
