In the first quadrant all the 6 functions are positives.

Think instead of (x, y) any point has now the coordinate (cos α, sin α) so in quadrant I we have x, y positive therefore sin α and cos α are positive.

Tangent α is positive because is sinα/cosα = positive /positive = a positive

Cotangent α= 1/tan α = cosα / sinα = positive /positive = a positive

Secant α = 1/cos α = 1/ a positive number = a positive number

Cosecant α = 1/sin α = 1/ a positive number = a positive number
