$\triangle ABC \sim\triangle DEF..(Given) \\ </p><p>\therefore (AB)/(DE) =(BC)/(EF)=(AC)/(DF)..(CSST)\\\\</p><p>\therefore (6)/(4) =(7)/(x)=(8)/(y)\\\\ \therefore (6)/(4) =(7)/(x) \\ \therefore \: x = (7 * 4)/(6) \\ \\\therefore \: x = (28)/(6) = (14)/(3) \\ \\ \huge \red{ \boxed{ \therefore \: x = (14)/(3) }} \\ \\ \because \: (6)/(4) =(8)/(y) \\ \\ \therefore \:y = (4 * 8)/(6) \\ \\ \therefore \:y = (32)/(6) \\ \\ \huge \purple{ \boxed{ \therefore \:y = (16)/(3) }}\\ \\$
