Food A contains 150 calories in 3/4 of a serving.

Food B. Contains 259 calories in 2/3 of a serving.


Find each unit rate. Which food has a fewer calories per serving

Food B has fewer calories.

Explanation:

To find the unit rate we had to transfer both to have the denominator. To do that we have to find a common denominator both 4 and 3 have. The common denominator is 12. We then use 12 as a denominator and solve. (Sorry I don't really know how to explain.)

Food A=

12 ÷ 4 is 3, 3 × 3 = 9.

9/12

Food B=

12 ÷ 3 = 4, 4 × 2 = 8.

8/12
