What is the perpendicular slope to the line -2y - 5x = 10?

Hey there,

We know that perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative reciprocal of the original slope.

The first step would be to make the equation into slope intercept form:

  • y =
    -(2)/(5) x - 5

Now we just find the negative reciprocal of the original equation which would be
(5)/(2) .

So the perpendicular slope of the line -2y - 5x = 10 would be
(5)/(2) .
