You would do 1 + 2+ 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9

which would equal 45

you would then divide it by 9 because there is 9 numbers in the sequence which would the give you the answer being five

To find the mean of a set of data you must add the data together then divide the sum by the number of data in the set.

Step 1: Adding together the data

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 = 45

Step 2: Count how many number there are in the data set

There are 9 numbers in this data set

Step 3: Divide the sum of the data (45) by the number of data in the set (9)

45 รท 9 = 5

The mean of this data set is 5
