The area of the trapezoid is
(1)/(2)(b1+b2)*h

  • b1 ⇒ length of one of the bases ⇒ 3 km
  • b2 ⇒ length of the other base ⇒ 5 km
  • h ⇒ height of trapezoid ⇒ 9km

Therefore the area is:

(1)/(2)*(3+5)*9 =(1)/(2)*(8)*9=4*9=36km^2

Area: 36 square kilometers

Hope that helps!
