To graph the linear equation :


y=(3)/(4) x+2

we need just two points
(x,y) pairs, but we better use three to make sure they are aligned. We can find convenient pairs by choosing values of the x-variable that are multiples of 4 in order to cancel the denominator of the slope
(3)/(4) : So let's use:

1) x=0 then
y=(3)/(4) (0)+2 =2 giving the pair: (0,2)

2) x=4 then
y=(3)/(4) (4)+2 =5 giving the pair: (4,5)

3) x=-4 then
y=(3)/(4) (-4)+2 =-1 giving the pair: (-4,-1)

Now we plot then on the grid (see attached image) and join them with a straight line.
