Process

1.- Convert the amount of flour to an improper fraction

2 1/2 = (4 + 1) / 2

= 5/2

2.- Write the problem as a proportion

5 : 2 :: 5/2 : s s = amount of sugar

3.- Solve the proportion for x

x = (2 x 5/2) / 5

-Simplify

x = (10 / 2) / 5

x = 10 / 10

-Result

x = 1 kg
