okay lets start with simplifying 4x^2, 4x * 4x = 16x right?

so lets plug that in with the equation. 16x + 4x - 2 = 0

simplify by adding the 4x with the 16x, 20x - 2 = 0

now add 2 to both sides, 20x = 2

now divide both sides by 20, x = .1 (or as 2/20, 1/10)
