Explanation:

6x^2+2x-20=0

i.e,6x^2+12x-10x-20=0

i.e,6x(x+2)-10(x+2)=0

i.e,(6x-10)(x+2)=0

either 6x-10=0=>x=5/3

or, x+2=0 =>x=(-2)
