Why do you think marriage is becoming more popular for one segment of the population and less popular for another segment of the population at the same time? Discuss your reasons for both of these social phenomena.

Answer:

Marriage is becoming more popular for one half of the population because people at a younger age feel the need to rush into it. Not only that, but some older people also don't want to spend their elder days alone if they have become widowed or even never married. On the conrary though, marriage has also become less popular with the other half of the population for the reason that there are people who do not want to commit so much for the rest of their lives. Some people prefer to be alone, or even some have the mindset that it will eventually end anyways, so that there's no point.
