The magnitude of ordered pair MP is 7.07, If the given points are M (2,-1) and P (-3, 4).

Explanation:

The given is,

The ordered pair that represents MP

M (2, -1)

P (-3, 4)

Step:1

Distance formula can be used to calculate the magnitude,

Formula to calculate magnitude of point MP is,

Magnitude = \sqrt{(x_(2)-x_(1))^(2)+(y_(2) -y_(1) )^(2) }................(1)

Where,
(x_(1), x_(2) ) and
(y_(1), y_(2) ) are points

From the given values,

M (2, -1) -
(x_(1), y_(1) )

P (-3,4) -
(x_(2), y_(2) )

Equation (1) becomes,

Magnitude of MP = \sqrt{(-3-2)^(2)+(4 +1 )^(2) }

= \sqrt{(-5)^(2)+(5 )^(2) }

= √(25+25)

= √(50)

= 7.07106 ≅ 7.07

Magnitude of MP = 7.07

Result:

The magnitude of ordered pair MP is 7.07, If the given points are M (2,-1) and P (-3, 4).
