A square has side length 3.4 cm. The side length of the enlargement is 17 cm. Determine the scale factor.

Explanation:

To find the scale factor, we divide 17 by 3.4 to find how much it was enlarged by.

17/3.4 = 5

We do this becuase when finding the scale factor, we take the dilated shape/side length and divide it by the original shape/side length.
