Answer:

Train A = 320 tons. Train B = 95 tons.

Explanation:

Given:

Two trains,Train A and Train B, weigh a total of 415 tons.

Train A is heavier than Train B.

The difference of their weights is 225 tons.

Question asked:

What is the weight of each train?

Solution:

As given that Train A is heavier than Train B and their weight's difference is 225 tons:-

Let weight of Train B =
x tons

Then weight of Train A =
x+225 tons

Combined weight of both train is 415 tons

Weight of Train A + Weight of Train B = 415 tons

x+225+x=415\\\\ 2x+225=415\\

Subtracting both sides by 225

2x=190

Dividing both sides by 2

x=95

Substituting the value:-

Weight of Train B =
x = 95 tons

Then weight of Train A =
x+225 = 95 + 225 = 320 tons

Therefore, weight of Train A is 320 tons and weight of Train B is 95 tons.
