What was one effect of Constantine’s changing the language of the Eastern Roman Empire from Latin to Greek?

The Greek language became more and more important in the East relative to Latin, so the Roman Empire decided to change it, therefore leaving its urbanized, cosmopolitan civilization and becoming more of a military-dominated society.
