x = 8.67 and y = 10

Explanation:

In right angled triangle

cos 60⁰ = 5/y

1/2 = 5/y

y = 10

in right angled triangle,

tan 60⁰ = x/5

√3 = x/5

x = 5√3 = 5 × 1.73 = 8.65

x = 8.67
