Answer: -7.6

Step-by-step explanation: (−5.2)+(−3.8)–{(−1.2)–[(−0.5)–(−0.7)]}

do the inside first, and then work your way out. so -.5 and -.7 are both inside of the parentheses, so work with them first. and the -.7 turns into +.7 since there's a negative sign in front of the parentheses, so -(-.7) turns to +.7 Then you would add .7 to -.5 that would make .2 then the equation would look like this (−5.2)+(−3.8)–{(−1.2)–[.2]}. now we have to add -1.2 and -.2 then we would get -1.4 Now the equation would look like this

(−5.2)+(−3.8)–{-1.4} now you would have -5.2 and -3.8 together you would get -9. Now it should look like this

(-9)–{-1.4}, and remember when there's a negative sign in front of the parentheses just imagine there's a 1 right be hind it like this -1(-1.4), so all you are doing is just multiplying -1 and -1.4 which gets you +1.4 Then you add it with -9 which you would get -7.6.

Here's an easier way to look at it if you did not want to read:

(−5.2)+(−3.8)–{(−1.2)–[(−0.5)–(−0.7)]}

(−5.2)+(−3.8)–{(−1.2)–[.2]}

(−5.2)+(−3.8)–{-1.4}

(-9)–{-1.4}

(-9)+{1.4}

= -7.6

Answer:

-10.4

Explanation:

Add the ones in the most parenthesis 1st

-0.5+0.7= 0.2

Then what was enclosing that

-1.2- (0.2)= -1.4

Now, find the sum of the remaining numbers

-5.2-3.8-(1.4)= -10.4 <------ Your Answer
