6+3x = 2(2 + x)

First we will need to open the parenthesis by multiplying the number that’s in front of them:

6+3x=4+2x

Now we need to separate the numbers from the X. By subtracting 2x from both sides:

6+3x=4+2x
-2x -2x
————————
6+x=4

Now we subtract 6 from both sides.

6+x=4
-6 -6
—————
X = -2
