What is the probability that the first roll is an even number and the second roll is a number greater than 4

Explanation:

There are 6 numbers on a dice

1,2,3,4,5,6

the even numbers are 2,4,6

so there are 3/6 chance of getting an even number

3/6=1/2

5 and 6 are the two numbers greater than 4

so there are 2/6 chance of getting a number greater than 4

2/6=1/3

So for both to happen chance = 1/2 × 1/3

= 1/6
