Determine the slope between these two points (-2,1) and (-3,3)

Answer:

-2, or 2/-1

Explanation:

The formula for slope is y2-y1/x2-x1, but you can chose any points to be (x1, y1) and (x2,y2) but in this example, (-2,1) will be pair 1 and (-3,3) will be pair 2 so substitute:

3-1/-3-(-2)=2/-1, which simplifies to -2

The formula for slope is


(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

In this case...


y_(2) =3\\y_(1) =1\\x_(2) =-3\\x_(1) =-2

^^^Plug these numbers into the formula for slope...


(3-1)/(-3 - (-2))


(2)/(-1)

-2
