Answer:

58

Explanation:

The Pythogoren Theorem is
a^(2) +b^(2) = c^(2). That will help you figure out the mystery side of the triangle that's the white space between the green squares.

You already know the "a" and "b" sides - the 3 and 7. All you have to do is put in the 3 in for
a^(2) and the seven for b squared (square them both and add them together).

3^(2) + 7^(2) = c^(2)

That gives you 58, which is
c^(2) the number that should go beneath the "radical", which is there to "unsquare" the square root, or remove the little two.

Answer:

C=√(58)

Explanation:

Notice that the value to be found (C) is the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle, therefore it can be obtained via the Pythagorean theorem:

hypotenuse=√(leg_1^2+leg_2^2)

In our case, the size of the legs of the triangle are given: "3" and "7", therefore:

hypotenuse=√(leg_1^2+leg_2^2)\\C=√(3^2+7^2)\\\\C=√(9+49) \\C=√(58)
