You can try all the possible combinations of denominators that add to 14, and look for what the least common denominator would be:

Denominator 1 Denominator 2 LCD

1 13 13

2 12 12

3 11 33

4 10 20

5 9 45

6 8 24

7 7 7

and then the pairs alternate giving the same results for the LCD until one gets to 13 and 1.

Therefore, one denominator must be 6 and the other 8
