Answer:

(A) $43.13

(B) $21.56 (One person will have to pay $0.01 more)

Step-by-step explanation: Lets first understand what Vicky and Raphael ordered and what the prices will be.

2 Sodas: $1.75 each. $1.75 x 2 = $3.50.

2 Mozzarella orders: $4.50 each. $4.50 x 2 = $9.

Chicken tender order: $7.50

Hot dog and fries: $9.00

Desert: $8.50

Add the total for all the items:

3.50 + 9 + 7.50 + 9 + 8.50 = $37.50

To find the tax, convert 15% to a decimal. 15 divided by 100 = 0.15.

Now, multiply the total by the decimal: 37.50 x 0.15 = 5.63

So a 15% tip on a bill for $37.50 is $5.63.

Now, add the total bill to the tip: $37.50 + 5.63 = $43.13

Now to see how much each person will play divide 43.13 by 2 to see how much each person will pay: $43.13 divided by 2 = about $21.56.

To check how much each person will pay multiply $21.56 x 2, which equals $43.12.

So each person will pay $21.56, but one person will have to pay $0.01 more, since the bill was not an even number.
