Fleur has 32 collectable playing cards. 3/8 of the playing cards are red. 2/8 of the playing cards are blue. The rest were green. How many of the playing cards were green? Explain how you found your answer.

3/8 of 32 would be 12, and 2/8 of 32 would be 8. Because these fractions are different colors, you could add them to get 20, then subtract 32 - 20 to get 12. Therefore, 12 of the cards were green (or 3/8). You could also find the answer by thinking of it in terms of fractions only; 3/8 + 2/8 = 5/8, which means the other 3/8 adds up to 32 cards.
