Jade wanted to test the effect of ice on the weathering of rocks. She filled two containers with gypsum and placed a water balloon in one of the containers. Explanation: Ice Wedging is a example of this.

What happens is in nature, water will flow from small rivers and sometimes it will flow into cracks in the rocks or terrain and when it freezes it will put to much pressure in the rock causing it to crack. The simularity in Jades test is the water balloon has water in it when put in there with the gypsum then she added a cold enviroment so the ice froze within the water balloon and expanded and that put to much pressure on the rock then it cracked.
