How did the question of slavery spreading result in the Missouri Compromise, Kansas-Nebraska Act and the Compromise of 1850

The Kansas-Nebraska Act gave each territory the power to decide on slavery through popular sovereignty. Slavery in Kansas would be a violation of the Missouri Compromise, which had kept the Union together for the previous thirty-four years. The long-standing agreement would need to be revoked.
