N.a. Alexander was drinking orange juice from a glass right cylinder.The cylinder has a diameter of 16 cm and the orange juice reaches a height of 12 cm as shown in the figure below.While ms. Alexander was drinking the juice her 6 year old niece dropped a marbpe, with a radius of 4 cm, into the glass and then laughed. TO the nearest tenth of a centimeter , how much did the orange juice level rise after the marble was dropped in the cylinder?

Answer:

1.33 cm

Explanation:

Volume of the marble:

(4/3)×3.14×4³

= 267.9466667 cm³

Effect on the glass:

Radius = 16/2 = 8

267.9466667 = 3.14 × 8² × h

h = 4/3 or 1.33 cm

The height increases by 1⅓ cm or 1.33 cm

New height is 13.33 cm
