William Stephens Smith was a United States Representative representing the New York region.

The union soldiers fought to preserve the union while the confederate soldiers fought to defend their homes.

The Confederate soldiers had strengths of knowing were they had to defend more than the Union Soldiers.

They were very judicious in their use of troops and don’t waste troops on useless attacks. The Confederate soldiers were also very skilled than the Union soldiers and had retired military officers in their rank.

The Confederate soldiers had the advantage.
