Explanation:

Given, a 10,000 gallon swimming pool requires 4 ounce of a chemical, so rate of its volume to amount of chemical =
(10000)/(4)=(2500)/(1)

We assume that , there is a proportional relationship between volume of swimming pool and the amount of chemical added to it.

Let x be the amount of chemical require for a 2500 gallon pool , then


(2500)/(x)=(2500)/(1)\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=1

I.e. 1 ounce of the chemical would be required for a 2500 gallon pool.
